College Mentors for Kids, inc. was started in 1995 in Bloomington, IN. The Ohio State University chapter was started in 2009, and since then we have been able to serve over 500 local elementary-aged students, teaching them about Higher Education & Careers, Culture & Diversity, Community Service, and so much more. College Mentors for Kids at the Ohio State University is an award-winning, highly-recognized student organization that is consistently growing and strengthening the mentoring relationships between university students and the local young minds who need it most.
Every week, we host 1st- through 5th-grade students on campus or around the city for one-on-one mentoring with a university student. Activities are group-focused with time allotted for mentor-mentee pairs to form and strengthen their own unique, one-on-one relationship. We currently serve 200 kids from four local elementary schools, logging over 400 hours of service every single week.

"At the end of the day, kids are just kids, whether they're in the first grade or freshmen in college. College Mentors for Kids is a unique program that leverages that natural connection, pairing youth with college student mentors to expose children as young as six to the opportunities and excitement of higher education."
